This year it appears September 8th is geek central! Last week we wrote about Star Trek Day 2022 Must Watches and on the Marvel Studios side of the equation we’re looking forward to Disney+ Day certain to be riddled with news both animated and live action (from Pixar to Star Wars!), hoping to rival Star Trek Day news and the Black Adam trailer also vying for our attention.
Sooo … what is Disney+ Day?
As of right now it occupies a similarly ambiguous space to Star Trek Day and DC Fandome (rest in peace). It’s both an online convention, a sea of announcements, content debut, and merchandising opportunity.
Disney+ Day this year is the day before D23 Expo in Anaheim, California, which is Disney’s in-person convention. This year Professor Ashley is going to be attending her very first D23 Expo. If you also happen to be attending on Friday, Saturday, or Sunday be sure to wave her down and say hello throughout the weekend!
Most awesomely, perhaps, for Marvel Studios fans is today is the day Thor: Love and Thunder hits Disney+

AMC screening attendees will also be treated to a free poster and discounted snack options at the cinemas.
Disney+ subscribers will get discounts and deals all day long at American Disney Parks - so if you live close to either Disneyland or Disney World please do and see what Haunted Mansion goodies are going to be available and know Professor Ashley will be profoundly jealous of anything you get your hands on. Disney+ subscribers will be granted entry half an hour before the rest of the public. So much the earlier to head to Avengers Campus! At this time we’re not wholly certain how they are going to ascertain who is and is not subscribed. Our suggestion? Consider putting the Disney+ app on a phone or tablet where you’ll have it easily at hand should the need arise to prove you are an account holder.
Disney+ Day gives fans the opportunity to celebrate some of their most beloved fandoms, take advantage of discounts and deals, and is sure to have surprises throughout. We encourage subscribers to take advantage of what piques their interest the most. If you aren’t able to attend D23 this year Disney+ Day is a fair alternative! Will you be tuning in?
